Pigalle have always had a strong affinity with basketball, opening up a flagship basketball dedicated store in its home town of Paris in 2014. In conjunction with this the Parisian collective teamed-up yet again with longstanding friends III-Studio, to create an extraordinarily vibrant and colourful basketball court situated in between the strips of Parisian buildings. The court was first renovated back in 2009 with the help of Nike and is used by Pigalle founder Stephen Ashpool to train local youths. The latest update is inspired by 1930s artwork ‘Sportsmen’ by Russian artist Kasimir Malevich.
For their latest basketball related project, Pigalle have again collaborated with Nike to celebrate basketball culture in Shanghai, creating a new iteration of the famous Nike LeBron 12 Elite silhouette. The shoe features Pigalle branding on the tongue and insole while maintaining the LeBron James crown logo on the heel pull-tab and is set to be released on August 18th.
